On this episode we talk with Dr. Kristen Case about Henry David Thoreau and the enduring pedagogical relevance of his life and writing, as well as about the Monson Seminar, a full-scholarship three-week residential course for highly-motivated Pell-eligible and first-generation college students pursuing creative and research-based projects based in Monson, Maine, and accredited through the University of Southern Maine. Kristen is the Executive Director and Lead Faculty of the Monson Seminar, which is entering its 5th year. She is a lifelong teacher in elementary, middle school, and university settings, as well as an award winning poet and an important Thoreau scholar.
