Arlene served as an educator for 24 years, positively impacting the lives of thousands of young Bahamians. She is an Avid proponent of Bahamian culture. She has also served on the National Junkanoo Committee for many years. To Arlene Junkanoo is not just a parade - it is a celebration of history and heritage. With her husband, she founded and runs Educulture, an experimental Junkanoo Museum, and Resource Centre, aiming to explore, discover and celebrate the spirit of Junkanoo. Arlene is a founding member of One Family Junkanoo group and host of Junkanoo 242 broadcast every Saturday morning at 10 p.m. on ZNS radio.
