Diana Collins talks with Tia Smith about her journey.

My name is Tia Smith, born in Oakland, Ca I have three children four, six, and ten. Currently, I am a stay at home mom. After eighteen years in the banking industry. I also worked for the City of Phoenix as a Recreational Leader working with youth. I am a titleholder Ms. Triumph Over Tragedy 2014. I am a Christian woman who believes God is my rock, my protection, and my savior. I believe if you put God first all your blessings will follow.

I am a survivor of family domestic violence. At the young age of eight, my mother was taken away from me right in front of my eyes. My character has been molded by the many obstacles I have faced since this incident. In spite of this senseless act of violence, I feel that I am a real-life example of triumph over tragedy.
