Episode notes

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association released the first draft of the 2025-29 conferences realignment on December 17. For the first time in its history, the NCHSAA will have eight classifications of member schools with the largest class, 8A, having the 32 largest schools in the state by population. The 1A though 7A classes will be evenly divided and have just under 60 schools apiece. The changes led to an end of an era at the State Football Championships last weekend. For the final time, only four state champions were crowned when Tarboro, Greensboro Grimsley, West Charlotte and Monroe all captured state championships. J. Mike Blake, writer for HighSchoolOT.com, joined Jeff Hamlin to discuss the complications with the changes.
