As a child, over the course of five years, I was the repeated victim of abuse by multiple men, which led me to become an angry adolescent. (I was) incarcerated at age sixteen for eighteen years. Since my release, I have mentored and worked with hundreds of individuals to encourage them to own their stories so that they too can recognize they have a choice – they can choose to live in victimhood, or they can choose to forgive, let go, grow, and empower themselves to live fulfilling meaningful lives.
