The trust is gone - with those words, Premier David Eby has announced a provincial toll for trucks heading through B.C. to Alaska. Eby calls it a show of strength and an answer to the tariffs imposed by Donald Trump that are hurting families on both sides of the border. The move comes as Trump announces a pause on some tariffs for Canadian and Mexican goods until April 2. The new B.C. legislation also allows for the removal of many interprovincial trade barriers.
