Marie and Joe are astronauts working aboard the Fix It, a ship dedicated to repairing satellites in high orbit. After Marie fixes a deep-space receiver, they unexpectedly intercept a video signal from blue-haired aliens who call themselves the Huxabl. These friendly visitors claim to have learned human languages from Earth's broadcasts and request a face-to-face meeting. However, when the aliens "land" at a secret base in Texas, the humans are baffled to see an empty field. The situation turns dire as the aliens report being attacked by a six-legged "armored monster" in a forest of "green towers". Marie suddenly realizes the truth: the aliens are microscopic, their "forest" is the grass, and the "monster" is a common ant.
