Iran’s offer puts Trump on the spot as Netanyahu pushes harder, with Oman talks, new US sanctions and the nuclear standoff back in the spotlight. Right, so Donald Trump is being offered a way out and it’s the kind of way out that makes powerful people uncomfortable because it forces them to admit what this has really all been about. Iran’s atomic chief, Mohammad Eslami, is saying fine, talk nuclear only, talk dilution of that sixty per cent stockpile, but lift every sanction in return and stop pretending this is a negotiation if you’re still tightening the noose while you talk.
