Today we're releasing a special episode pertaining to current events here in Panama in October/November 2023. The Panamanian President renewed a mining contract of an open pit copper mine on October 20, 2023, and since then nation wide protests and road blocks have gotten more and more intense. Starting Monday, October 23, a large portion of the PanAmerican Highway has been COMPLETELY BLOCKED with no traffic coming or going.

In our conversation, we do not go into a ton of details about the politics of the situation, but mostly share our experience driving through the country of Panama to get home while encountering multiple road blocks and protests, finding food and resources when no supplies are being delivered because trucks can't get through, and discuss what we've seen throughout these 10 days of road blocks.
