Texas Tech Basketball Offseason Preview with RC Maxfield
In this tailgate we had to bring RC Mayfield back to the tailgate after Pop Isaacs hit the portal to discuss all things Texas Tech Basketball and the offseason. We start off by discussing the Steffe tweet (3:30) and RC's reaction to it. Then we dissect how we ended up with Pop in the portal (7:30) and discuss the other names that have entered as well. We shift our conversation to an overall view of this portal/NIL era and discuss programs that have struggled and succeeded during this era (25:46). Basketball Season Wrap-Up & Transfer Portal Rankings
In this week's tailgate we recap the disappointing loss to NC State in round 1 of the NCAA tournament (2:22). We discuss what went wrong and why the Red Raiders never seemed to get control of the moment. We end the hoops season by remember how special this season has been and the amazing job Coach McCasland did in year 1 to get this program back on track. With the end of the season comes Transfer Portal season, so we rank the guys on the squad based on how sure we are we will see them in the Red & Black next season (23:20). Red Raiders Regular Season Finale
In this week's tailgate we discuss the Red Raiders closing out the season with 3 straight wins to earn a tie for 3rd place in Grant McCasland first season in the Big 12 (2:08). We talk about the two road victories to secure a double digit conference win record then talk about the impressive win over Baylor in the regular season finale (15:50) Then we shift our focus to the upcoming Big 12 tourney (42:18) and what we want to see from the Red Raiders in KC. Trending in the Wrong Direction
In this weeks tailgate we discuss the Texas Tech basketball recent 1-3 skid late in the season (2:24). We touch on the games we missed discussing last week then dive into the incredibly disappointing effort on Tuesday night in the last battle at the USA against Texas (21:12).
