Program Spotlight - Music

Dr. Francisco Solis, San Antonio College President, and Hot Mustard start the program by recapping the SAC Centennial Gala. The gala was more than a year in the making and brought many of SAC’s friends, alums, and supporters together to celebrate SAC’s 100 years of service to the community. The highlight of the gala was the announcement that SAC raised $2 million during the centennial year for scholarships and programs to help the next generations of students who attend SAC. The program continued with guests Kerri Morgan, Discipline Coordinator for Music, and Dametrius Delgado, a student in the music program. Kerri talks about the music program and what future students can expect. Many students majoring in music intend to transfer to a university and get into music education. Dametrius talks about his experience in the music program from a student’s perspective. He says the music faculty are passionate and supportive, and he appreciates how they push students to be their best. Program Spotlight - Law Enforcement Academy

Dr. Francisco Solis, San Antonio College President, and Hot Mustard talk about the Law Enforcement Academy. Director of the Law Enforcement Academy, Rolando Barrientez, talks the program and opportunities available to students once they graduate. Edward Nunn is a current student in program, and he shares his experience and journey to SAC. Carlos Resendez, graduate of the Law Enforcement Academy and an Alamo Colleges Police officer, talks about what led him to pursue a career in law enforcement. The Law Enforcement Academy is taking applications for the next Part-time Academy which starts January 19, 2027 and the Full-time Academy which starts January 11, 2027. Program Spotlight - Nursing

Dr. Francisco Solis, San Antonio College President, and Hot Mustard talk with Dr. Mary Horton, Nursing Faculty, and Lindsay Foss, student in the SAC Nursing ADN program. Dr. Horton talks about the various tracks offered in the program. The A.A.S. program has two tracks, the Generic track, and the Career Mobility track for LVN/LNP and military medics. Once the student completes the program, takes and passes the NCLEX licensing exam, and becomes a Registered Nurse, the student can then apply and transition into the BSN Bridge Program. Lindsay talks about her experience as a student in the program and talks about her journey to San Antonio College. Program Spotlight - Phi Theta Kappa

Dr. Francisco Solis, San Antonio College President, and Hot Mustard talk with Jeannette Bunch, Phi Theta Kappa Faculty Advisor. Phi Theta Kappa is an honor society that offers opportunities for students through networking and scholarships. PTK president Olivia Garcia, and Vice president of college projects, Robert Rodriguez, also join the program to share their journey with PTK. Student Spotlight - Destiny Garcia

Dr. Francisco Solis, San Antonio College President, and Hot Mustard welcome Destiny Garcia to the program. Destiny currently serves as the San Antonio College Student Government Association President. She previously served as SAC SGA’s Vice President. She enjoyed being on SGA so much, she decided to run for president this year. Destiny plans to transfer to the University of Texas at Austin to study arts and entertainment technology.

Alum Spotlight - Harvey Hartenstine

Dr. Francisco Solis, San Antonio College President, and Hot Mustard talk with SAC Alum, Chief Executive Officer and President of Broadway Bank, Harvey Hartenstine. Harvey and his wife, Margaret, have been the chairs of SAC’s Centennial Executive Committee for more than a year. Follow his extraordinary path from working in an auto body shop after high school to spending 45 years as a banking leader. He has served on the board of Christus Hospital Foundation, Mission Road Ministries and has been active in Crosspoint Inc., a non-profit that serves unhoused individuals, and people with mental illness and mental disabilities.

SAC Architecture and a new semester!

Dr. Francisco Solis, San Antonio College President, and Hot Mustard are back for the Fall 2026 Semester! The two talk about updates on construction, Artificial Intelligence, SAC convocation, and more. This episode’s guest is Torrey Carlton, Executive Director of the American Institute of Architects, San Antonio chapter. Torrey talks about her connection to San Antonio College and her time on the SAC Centennial committee. She also talks about the SAC Architecture program, and the many opportunities AIA provides for those students. Alum Spotlight - Cary Clack

Dr. Francisco Solis, San Antonio College President, and Hot Mustard talk with SAC Alum, Cary Clack. Cary is a native San Antonian, who has spent much of his career working in journalism. He also worked in politics, first with Congressman Juaquin Castro and later with then San Antonio mayor Ivy Taylor. This is the last episode of the semester. Speaking of SAC returns in Fall 2026 semester!

Travis Early College High School

Dr. Francisco Solis, San Antonio College President, and Hot Mustard, talk about Travis Early College High School. Through a collaboration with San Antonio College, the students are able to take college courses while in high school. When they finish, they receive not only a high school diploma but an associate degree as well. Hear from students Joaquin Marchan, Magaly Martinez, Sarah Vargas, and Felix Willis as they talk about their experience with Travis Early College High School.
