Tracey Curtis-Taylor followed Mary Heath’s historic 1928 solo flight from Cape Town to London; followed by an epic flight following Amy Johnson’s 1930 flight from England to Australia. Not wanting to leave out good ‘ole North America, Tracey capped off her trilogy of adventures by flying the US Transcontinental mail route in tribute to Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly across America. Tracey’s book “Bird” chronicles these epic adventures and her own personal story & struggles. It’s a fascinating tale of the challenges of cross continent flying and pushing through immeasurable logistical and aeronautical obstacles. It is a celebration of the historic achievements of the female pioneering aviators of the 1920's and 30's.
