Dr. Franklin Story Musgrave is a living legend in the world of space exploration. Musgrave was selected as an astronaut by NASA in August 1967 as a member of NASA Astronaut Group 6. He worked on the Skylab Program, and participated in the design and development of all Space Shuttle spacesuits, life support systems, airlocks and Manned Maneuvering Units. A veteran of SIX space flights, he has spent over 1,281 hours in space, including nearly 27 hours outside the spacecraft on EVA. As if that were not enough, he has logged more than 20,000 flight hours in over 160 types of aircraft and is also a parachutist with more than 800 free-falls.
