Symphonic Trumpet Student, KPFA Radio Engineer, and Grateful Dead Bass Player, Phil Lesh has died at age 84. Among the Bass Guitar innovators of the 1960's, Phil provided a Brass Section approach to playing Bass. He changed the way Bass fits into a band and launched an avalanche of low end boom and melody that beautifully connected to the guitar playing of Bob Weir and Jerry Garcia.
