In this Renngineering Heritage episode, I pick up a conversation I initially had with PJ Gibbons after seeing his stunning war horse of a 356a, at a small car meet.

PJ had picked a parking spot in front of some skips. When everyone else was focused on putting their car pride of place outside the front of Podium Place in Newbury, PJ knew the aesthetic would suit his car perfectly.

That, to me... sums up PJ.

Humble and relaxed. Minimum effort, but maximum style. I can feel the cringe emerging from PJ reading this.

The reality is though, there is something easy about real style. It’s a case of the harder you try, the worse at it you are.

I learned a lot from the shoot. I found a new friend. I had my first ever drive in a Porsche 356. I found that the expectation of a wallowy, marshmallow of a car couldn’t have been ...
