In this episode we interview Chris Nalley, a 43 year old warehouse manager in Richmond who was born with Cystic Fibrosis. He didn’t receive that diagnosis until he was 9 years old and has been in and out of the hospital most of his life. When he was 25 he got pneumonia that was so severe he had to be put into a drug induced coma for 6 months from January to June. He missed his birthday, the Super Bowl, the Final Four, etc. His lungs were so damaged that he had to be put on 24/7 oxygen and was listed to have his first double lung transplant which he had in July of 2006. His life completely changed after that.

He ran a 5k 5 months after his transplant, a marathon some years after that and lived a normal life for a long stretch of time. Unfortunately in 2010 his first transplanted lungs began to reject. He was re-listed for another double lung ...
