Folks. Oklahoma is pulling a classic split personality today. Fire danger in the west. Severe storms in the east. Both happening at the same time.
Let's start with the fire threat. Western Oklahoma is facing critical conditions this afternoon. Winds gusting to 37 miles an hour. Humidity dropping to 9 percent. Temperatures climbing into the low 80s. That's a dangerous recipe. If you're out near Hobart or anywhere in the Panhandle, don't burn anything outdoors today. Any spark could explode into something serious.
Now the severe weather. Northeast and central Oklahoma are in the crosshairs for thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight. Large hail. Damaging winds. Even a tornado risk.
