Episode notes
This time I speak with Charmaine Teodoro, a math teacher in rural Colorado who uprooted her life in The Philippines to come teach in the United States. We speak about her experiences in such a small community and how the students compare to those in her home country. We also speak about the larger topic of why the phenomenon outsourcing teachers in small, rural communities in the US exist. This was a very insightful conversation about diversity in education and the potentially broken system we have around teacher compensation.
