We're talking about a massive 40-degree temperature swing today—yes, you heard that right—with some spots climbing from near-freezing at dawn to a balmy 70 degrees by afternoon. Here's the breakdown: Out west, you’re starting at a chilly 29 degrees this morning, but don't let that fool you. By this afternoon. Scottsbluff and the Panhandle will be basking in 70 degrees under sunny skies. Winds kick up from the west at 10 to 15 miles an hour, gusting to 25—so hold onto your hats. Tonight brings a quick cooldown back to the mid-30s, but still mild for early March. Head east. And the story’s similar with a twist. Omaha and Lincoln wake up to 36 degrees, but by 5 P.M., you’re hitting 72 degrees—that's 25 degrees above normal for this time of year ...
