Maya has a special job at school this week.

Her teacher asks her to be the plant monitor.

Every day, Maya checks the classroom plants by the window.

She touches the soil, looks at the leaves, and decides which plants need water. Some plants are dry. Some are still damp.

But one day, Maya notices something worrying.
