Step outside and you'll feel that thick fog clinging to everything. Dense fog blanketed areas west of the Blue Ridge overnight, dropping visibility to a quarter mile in spots. That advisory holds until 10 A.M. Eastern Maryland saw some patchy fog, but nothing quite as dramatic.
Here's where it gets interesting. A backdoor cold front is sneaking in from the northeast this morning, creating a wild temperature split statewide. Baltimore Metro tops out near 50 degrees. Central Maryland reaches 48. But Western Maryland? You soar to 53 degrees as warmer air pushes in from the south.
