Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Maryland Weather Podcast — it's Monday, February 23rd. You woke up to a fresh blanket of snow this morning. Maryland picked up 1.4 inches in the last 24 hours, with another third of an inch overnight. The heavy stuff has moved out, but here's the catch — black ice is hiding on untreated roads. Bridges, overpasses, shaded spots? Those are the troublemakers. Give yourself extra time this morning. Maryland is doing that thing where it can't decide if it's one state or three. Western Maryland is still getting pounded. Snow squalls through noon could drop another 3 to 6 inches in the Alleghenies. Baltimore and Central Maryland? You're transitioning to a blustery, chilly day. Snow wraps up by noon, but northwest winds at 15 to 18 miles an hour — gusting to 38 — will make it feel like 21 degrees by 5 A.M. ...
