Highlights
- X class solar flare, X1.9 at from old region 4274 now numbered 4299 2:26 utc today. It did produce a coronal mass ejection but it will likely not hit Earth. And produced a R3 radio blackout over Australia. This region is currently just rotating into view on the Northeast portion of the Sun. This region is still turning to face Earth. We could be on the docket for a more direct facing larger flare activity soon.
- Solar flare activity is up and high.
- Solar wind speed is down and just as the wind is reaching more average conditions, we have a large coronal hole about to make contact with our Earth beginning Wednesday and lasting through Friday where we could see an increase in geomagnetic activity.
- Geomagnetic field had a quite a bit of variability these past 24 hours from KP 1-4.
