Welcome to HerPoetry Podcast! Hey Lovelies, so can we be real for a second? Let’s be real... I have no idea what I’m doing and we’re fearlessly creating content. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for what feels like seemingly forever and I had to realize that people are living their own lives, not worrying or thinking twice about what you're doing. So why wait? You can come across something, someone, or just have a stream or moment of doubts and what if’s but THAT’s just it. It’s just a moment in the many hours of YOUR handcrafted day where your decisions are handpicked and led for you. It’s a moment in time and in this moment in time we’re choosing to be brave, bold, and we’re taking steps with intentions to chat about being vulnerable, about mental health, about spirituality, all while incorporating positive affirmation and poetry. Her poetry podcast is an extension of a mental health platform I’ve been nurturing on instagram for a little over a year now that includes a collection of thoughts, poetry, and prayer. It's a reminder that through our lows we must continue on to reach our highest point. Its acknowledging where you are currently while appreciating the position you may be dwelling in is an escalation and pivot from where we once were in the past. We are constantly evolving and during that process I’m here to own and appreciate that journey in the highest regard. There is a poem by Useni Eugene Perkins titled Hey Black Child which is one of my favorite pieces of work and within his work he writes…. Do you know who you are.. Who you really are.. Do you know you can be What you want to be If you try to be What you can be This poem is a reminder that your evolution and journey is limitless, your progression is timeless, and your opportunities are endless if only you simply continue to try. My ultimate goal in creating this podcast is transparency without expectations, it's for relativity, and those days when you're in the car, just got home from work, or just have a little time to waste. You may have had a long day, back hurts, feet hurts, moral, patience, and dignity is at jeopardy. I’m hoping you get some momentary joy out of these episodes. So without further introduction. Here’s to the journey, experience, and evolution of HerPoetry Podcast. Enjoy!
