The Law is summarised in the Shema in Deuteronomy 6:4-5. It speaks of the Fundamental Doctrine and the Fundamental Duty.
1. GOAL OF THE LAW
God’s Law is about love, not just rules: love Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength wholly and Him alone.
2. GOODNESS OF THE LAW
Obedience brings blessing, but no judge or king keeps God’s Law. We all fail—except Jesus. He fulfilled the Law, loved the Father perfectly, and secured its promised good. Repent and believe in Him for eternal life—the greatest love of all.
3. GRACE TO DO THE LAW
God’s people can live out this Law, because Christ lives in us. He has given us a new heart and a new Spirit. This love for God and obedience to His Word is the evidence of true salvation. May God l ...
