Today's the warmup act, metro Atlanta climbs to 78 degrees by mid-afternoon. Down along the coast near Savannah, you hit 85. Eastern Georgia? You're pushing 86 by early evening, that's 41 degrees above normal for early March.
Moving on. Early morning brings scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10 A.M, the coast sees the best chance between 6 and 9 A.M. After that, partly sunny skies take over with southwest winds around 5 miles an hour.
As the sun sets. Tonight stays mild — lows only drop to the low 60s statewide. Warm enough that some record high minimum temperatures could fall.
