Diary Entry No. 7 – Candace: “Quarter Juices & Caged Creatures”

Flawda Girls' Diaries by Sh'Kia

Episode notes

In Candace’s neighborhood, the Candy Lady’s house was a childhood rite of passage. Tall uncut grass, large pickles, hot sausages, quarter juices, Laffy Taffys, and Now & Laters. But ever since the Candy Lady got herself a man, something about the place changed.

Possums in cages. Rabbits with bloody feet. Gator eyes glinting in the dark.

When Candace discovers her beloved pet bunny trapped in their backyard “farm,” she and her cousin plot a late-night rescue mission that turns into a full-blown heist. Eleven rabbits, three trips, and one attic full of secrets.

This is a Southern story about childhood curiosity, growing up too fast, and learning when to look away… and when to act.
