Larry Jefferson, the Director of the State of Washington Office of Public Defense, grew up in a domestic violence home. Ultimately his mother escaped the abuse and embarked on a collegiate life. She included Larry in the journey for knowledge. Sparking Larry's thirst for education and eventually his pursuit of a law degree. Upon passing the Bar and entering the legal field Larry found a passion for defending disadvantaged Americans against the vast resources of the government. Coming to discern the considerable inequities and injustices facing minorities, the impoverished, and the mentally disordered. That discernment inspired Larry to reach the highest Office for Public Defenders and to implement reforms.
