Reverend Dr. Michael A. Evans, Sr. was elected Mayor of the City of Mansfield, Texas, in December 2020. He is the proud pastor of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Mansfield where he has served for more than 30 years. 

Mayor Evans received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (Pre-Law) from the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his Master of Divinity degree from TCU. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Baylor University, where he has also served as a member of the board of regents for the university. 

Mayor Evans was elected to the Mansfield Independent School District Board of Trustees for three terms, serving from 2007 to 2016 including two years as board president.
