The Harbinger of Death (of Human Thought)? A Discussion on AI in the Classroom

Hi, Corrupters!  ****the following show notes were generated using GhatGPT**** Today, we're delving into a hot topic in education— the use of generative AI in college courses. As technology continues to advance, educators are faced with the decision of integrating artificial intelligence into their teaching methods. In this episode, we'll be discussing the pros and cons of using generative AI in higher education. We also broach the question - is there a middle ground? We explore how educators can strike a balance between leveraging generative AI and maintaining a human touch in education. We also discuss the importance of adequately training educators to navigate and maximize the benefits of AI integration. -Cassie & Jacob  Music: East Side Manhattan by Popoi | https://soundcloud.com/popoimusic Music promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.com Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en_US

Job Hunting Season: Navigating the Current Job Market (Part 2)

_____________________________________________________________________________Hello beautiful people! In this episode, Cassie and I acknowledge the passage of time (our pt. 2 episode was recorded months apart from pt. 1. As such, we are coming into the topic with fresh eyes. We reflect on our experiences being on the job market. August/September is usually the start of the job hunting season where jobs get posted. Cassie talks about the questions you should have and gives dating advice while Jacob wonders if we have any listeners who are jerks. We talk about how the first interview is a unique opportunity for you as an applicant as well as go over the “job talks” you give. We share resources that helped us tread the waters to stay on top of your applications. Lastly, we tell about our experiences for both the 1st interview as well our the 2nd, in-person interview. This journey is a tricky one and we hope we can shed some light onto it.-JacobResources mentioned: Job Application - Tracking Sheet from Dr. Cassie Whitt: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wrlLbMCMv8tnZSJy_YjjjmCT7sgeGqbo/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=103527985203401271150&rtpof=true&sd=truePsychology Jobs Wiki: http://psychjobsearch.wikidot.com/2021The Professor Is In [Blog Site]: https://theprofessorisin.com/Agency by Alex-Productions | https://onsound.eu/Music promoted by https://www.free-stock-music.comCreative Commons / Attribution 3.0 Unported License (CC BY 3.0)https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/deed.en_US
