Yes it is important to read research papers. However, they are not gospel. They are one of the mediums strength and conditioning (S&C) coaches need to consume.

This paper was published in 2025 but was based on 2015 data set. In the article Dr. Short talks about Acute to Chronic Workload Ratio (ACWR) and how it can help coaches plan their workload.
