Revelations 3:7 tells us the key of David is the spiritual authority to open and shut doors. It’s not a physical key but a spiritual mantle–a lifestyle of a redeemed and transformed people.
The key of David is symbolic of the completed work of Jesus, which we see powerfully proclaimed in the story of the woman with the issue of blood. She touched Jesus’ tallit, trusted in His spiritual authority and heart of compassion, and was made whole and changed completely. The key of David is a mantle of spiritual authority grounded in our true Kingdom identity as New Creations in Him.
