An Inside Look At ALL Things Boundaries w/ Mikel Gojcaj
Boundaries. It's a hot topic right now and a buzz word for self-help and "good" mental health. But what does it really take to have "healthy" boundaries in your life? Have you ever wondered how your therapist identifies your needs from the one or two sentences you gave them about that pair of shoes your mom didn't let you buy when you were ten? Well I am joined by one of my close friends and professional colleague Mikel Gojcaj (AKA The KING of Boundaries). He has been helping clients create strong, sustainable and healthy boundaries for years and is here to share his wisdom and magical framework on boundaries with you all. I am truly excited and honored to share this guest with you as he is someone I look up to professionally and am very close with. Guest: Mikel Gojcaj: Mikel Gojcaj is a psychotherapist and member of the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute and the American Psychoanalytic Association. In his profession, Mikel utilizes a psychodynamic approach that focuses on undering the root causes of an individual's emotional suffering through self-reflection and collaborative exploration by also using the relationship between therapist and patient as a window into problematic relationship patterns in a patient's life. Through this hard work, people can achieve meaningful change that can help enable them to live their lives with a sense of bravery, strength, love and acceptance that they weren't consciously aware of before. While he has other interests such as playing acoustic guitar & drawing, he also hopes to become a member of the Detroit Film Critics Society because he also thoroughly enjoys watching and judging acclaimed films that are in the running for the Academy Awards every year since he was in high school. Whether you are a mother or not sometimes life throws us curve balls - and totally changes how we show up. It can be hard to balance our lives when we are so busy trying to control all the outcomes in order to keep ourselves safe. But when we do that we end up missing out on life - especially when it comes to connecting with humans (especially our little humans for my fellow moms). In this episode I welcome fellow single mama, wholistic nutritionist, and aspiring naturopathic doctor Ashton Hite. Today she shares her big life lessons and experiences and how she preserves her personal peace while navigating single motherhood in her 20s! Show Notes: Ashton Hite: "Hi! I’m Ashton Hite: a passionate mother, wholistic nutritionist, and aspiring naturopathic doctor who finds purpose helping others find their confidence and voice in their own healing journey - mind, body and spirit. I have grown to merge the love I have as a mother into a profession that can utilize the empathic, nurturing, and supportive characteristics that role teaches. I do this using a whole person approach where we dive into what you put into, onto, and around your bodies, your environment, and habits in order to educate each person on an individualistic approach to lifestyle modifications that best suit your needs."
