S2-Bonus-Bubbles and Verses, A Toast to Virginia, a Mother, a Daughter and a Sparkling Glass of Poetry

When You Just Want A Glass Of Wine by Zena Polin and Renée Gentry

Episode notes

When you just want a glass of wine… and your daughter shows up with a microphone, a bottle of Virginia sparkling and a bowl of caramelized onion dip.

Zena surprises her mom, Elaine, with a sparkling twist for Virginia Wine Month: a Thibaut-Jannison tasting paired with Beauty’s famous caramelized onion dip and salty potato chips. There’s musing and memories of France, including that time her parents took a Harley across Bordeaux.

Elaine is inspired and gifts us this magnificent quatrain:

“The fruit of the vine,

Virginia’s sparkling wine,

A drink for romance,

Like a secret night in France.”

Because sometimes, the best pairing isn’t wine and food.. it’s raising a glass with your mom. 🥂
