Yesterday we lost James Van Der Beek after a more than two-year battle with Stage 3 colorectal cancer.

For many of us, he was Dawson from Dawson's Creek. He was “Mox” from Varsity Blues. He was part of our late 90s and early 2000s coming-of-age story. But in his final years, he became something even more powerful — a public example of faith, fatherhood, and courage in the face of illness.
