Seeking payback often feels tempting, especially when we’ve been wronged. However, pursuing revenge typically leads to a cycle of negativity that can harm us more than those we wish to get back at. It consumes our energy and attention, distracting us from our own growth and happiness.
Instead of bringing satisfaction, payback can create further conflict and resentment, deepening wounds rather than healing them. It can trap us in a mindset of anger and bitterness, preventing us from moving forward and finding peace. Moreover, it often doesn’t lead to the closure we hope for; instead, it can prolong our suffering and escalate situations unnecessarily.
