A new COVID-19 variant called NB.1.8.1, or "Nimbus," is currently spreading in the U.S. and is believed to be more transmissible than previous strains, although it does not appear to cause more severe illness. Symptoms include a severe sore throat, cough, fever, and fatigue, similar to other COVID variants.
