The Indians selected the Stanford graduate in the first round of the 2002 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2004. In 2009, he pitched for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. He played for the Cleveland Indians, Baltimore Orioles, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals, and Washington Nationals.
