Hi – we're Nicky and Carrie, 2 ADHD coaches figuring it out together...
So, picking up where we left off in ep.17... we briefly recap 'our Chimp', and how – with highly variable success – it tries hamfistedly to help us!
Then we look at our suite of inner voices* (with a detour about motivation), and how we can perhaps spot the origin of our infamous ‘Inner Critic'. We touch on something called Internal Family Systems and how a specific inner voice may actually be a remnant part of e.g. our 4 year old self.
We also explore how we can start to take charge, including:
“Passengers on a bus”
Increasing awareness
Interrogating the evidence
Disempowering the negative
Taking control through action
