by Shitty MashupsSeason 2
Ian and Ryan, they're feeling quite blue,This week's challenge is quite a doozy, it's true,They have to make mashups with songs that rhyme,It's tough, but they'll do it, just give them some time. The "Your Music" Challenge
The boys are no strangers to dabbling in the DIY music scene. So take our collective hand and join us in a trip down memory lane to relive our historical attempts at creating art.Muzak. Love it or hate it, it's everywhere. Personally I love it but that's just because I get really excited about the origins of things that are mundane. A living breathing person (or an ai) spent time out of their life to create original music (or instrumental versions of popular songs) and that music changed hands a dozen times from artist to elevator installer. Truly magical. Too bad it also sucks. Now look. Some songs are showers and some are growers. Just because you didn't like them the first time you heard them doesn't mean that they have nothing to offer. Give that song you don't like a few more listens and see if it doesn't win you over. You hipster. The *Hits Blunt* Bruuuuuuuh Challenge
So, like, have you ever tried starting up the movie Shrek at the same time as playing Pink Floyd's album Wish You Were Here? It's freakin' wild man. The way that the music and movie sync up is just insane. It's like the universe is telling us that these two things were meant to be together, ya know? The album's melancholic melodies and poignant lyrics just blend perfectly with the whimsical and sometimes serious moments in the film. And like, there are some parts where the music seems to be speaking directly to what's happening on screen. For example, during the opening credits when "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" starts playing, you can just feel the emotion pouring out of the speakers as the movie introduces us to Shrek's lonely swamp. And don't even get me started on "Wish You Were Here" playing during the scene where Shrek and Donkey are sitting by the campfire. It's like the music just encapsulates the feeling of longing and nostalgia that's present in that scene. I don't know man, it's just one of those things that you have to experience for yourself. So grab some popcorn, spark up a J, and get ready for one trippy ride. The Grocery Store Challenge
There's been a chronological glitch so if you think you've seen this post before, it's actually best for all parties involved, especially you, to pretend that you didn't. This week the boys have to bust out some grocery store jams. Often considered the worst music on the planet due to the fact that we're subjected to it through the toils of unfairly compensated labor. If you saw this episode called the grocery store challenge, no you didn't This is the Same Name Challenge. The boys out here making mashups with songs that have the same dang name! Also: You've been cordially invited to a series of dinners. The Great Shittish Mash Off
This week, the men of our company have gone astray and crossed the briny deep to fair England. Pray tell, which amongst them hath crafted a mashup so grand, it caused the king to shed a tear? And which, alas, hath created a mashup so foul, it doth make the queen turn in her grave? Stay tuned to find out.The Day of the Week Challenge
Time dilation, tape hiss, signal delay, lunar flares, etc. What time is it? What day is it? What is this?I can't even be bothered to write the blurb tbh. Like what's the point anyway?
