Jesus’ parable of the servant reminds us of a reality often overlooked in a culture of entitlement: we are unworthy servants, created to serve our Master. Duty may sound cold, but when viewed in light of the gospel, it becomes a joy and privilege.
Coveting what others have—whether possessions, opportunities, or influence—flows from a distorted sense of entitlement. But when we see that Christ has exchanged our sin for His righteousness, any service we render is simply our reasonable response of gratitude. Nothing God asks of us is too much in light of the immeasurable grace He has given.
