Faika El-Nagashi, founder of Athena Forum has just co-authored a new report on how gender identity policies have overridden sex-based rights in legislation across Europe. Over the past 20 years influential LGBTQ organizations and activists have had open access to EU institutions and put forward policy demands that deny reality, disregard women’s safeguarding concerns and normalize the social or medical transitioning of - often gay and lesbian - youth. We talk about the silence and complicity of the left and of feminist organizations, the temper tantrums of activists, and the courage to say no and draw boundaries within our own so-called communities.
