On the Hill today, we talk to Kody Wray Newland, wife, mother (2 kiddos), business owner, former Deputy and now Police Officer. Kody started as a deputy in Dinwiddie County where she worked in the courts, jailor, patrol deputy and as their first female SWAT team member. Kody now works as a police officer in Chesterfield County where aside from her patrol duties she specializes in PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique’s), ARIDE (Advanced Roadside Impaired Enforcement) and is also a DRE (Drug Recognition Expert). Kody and her husband Charles Newland also own and operate Othala Farms LLC - featuring Pastured Poultry and in the near future Beef.
