We have crossed over from Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur, the Highest Holy Day of the year. This is when we remember Jesus put His blood on the mercy seat in the heavenly tabernacle to atone for our sin and declare forgiveness and reconciliation with Father God! Now we are getting ready for the Festival of Joy or Feast of Sukkot or Booths or Tabernacles! This celebration is a reminder to look to heaven and remember we are seated with Christ in heavenly places.
When the Israelites came from the wilderness they lived in booths or tabernacles they had to put up and down for 40 years as they traveled. In their vulnerability God was with them! He met their every need and He meets ours! This is a time of rest !
