EpiClock Methylation Biological Aging

K Genome Compass by Dr. Min-Seob Lee

Episode notes

Epi-Clock is a novel epigenetic clock model designed for measuring biological age from blood DNA methylation. This measurement is increasingly important for predicting disease risk, guiding personalized health strategies, and advancing age-targeted therapeutics. Unlike chronological age, biological age offers a more accurate reflection of an individual’s functional health and longevity potential.

Existing DNA methylation-based epigenetic clocks often rely on hundreds to thousands of CpG sites, leading to high costs, complex analysis, and poor scalability, which limit their use in large-scale screening and clinical applications. To address these limitations, Epi-Clock was developed as a streamlined and cost-effective solution.
