For our third episode, our guests will be Clemens Six and Theda Perdue, both experts in the history of oppressed people. Six is specialized in global perspectives on history and has given lectures about Frantz Fanon’s works. Additionally we will invite a spokesperson from the American Indian Center of Arkansas, who can speak on the social-psychological stresses on Native populations today as a result of their history. The most notable of Fanon’s findings for this podcast is the psychopathology of colonization: colonized people were under a thick layer of silence and were thus unable to speak. They were all alienated from society and their mental illnesses had common causes. Many of them suffered from a lack of freedom and were caught up in their own fears.
