Ep. 2 – Marguerite Stern

Gender Critical Story Hour by Amy & Esme

Episode notes

In this episode, introduced by Amy, Esme chats with Paris-based activist Marguerite Stern.

Marguerite started her feminist journey at age 20 when she joined FEMEN, which became famous for organizing controversial topless protests against prostitution, sexism and violence against women. In 2013 she was imprisoned in Tunisia while protesting. She later went on to create Collages, a street postering campaign against femicide.

Early in 2020, her Collages headquarters was overtaken by trans activists, she received death threats for voicing her gender critical views and was forced from her home. In September 2020, her book Héroïnes de la rue was published by Editions Michel Lafon.
