There's a commonly-shared quote online that goes, "A wife who loses a husband is called a widow. A husband who loses a wife is called a widower. A child who loses his parents is called an orphan. But there is no word for a parent who loses a child." Sadly, this is a very true incident in such a grave setting as the intensive care unit for children where, though lives can be truly saved and recovery is many times accomplished, death can be a very imminent event. With a whole life and unfulfilled dreams ahead of children, one cannot truly imagine the fret and pain their loved ones must feel in times of disease and loss. How is this hurt managed?
