Podcasthon Special Episode for a Cause: Children's Grief

Discovering Journeys is proud to be part of Podcasthon—a global podcasting event where creators come together to support meaningful causes! 🎙️🌍 This year, I’m using my platform to support a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart: children’s grief awareness. 💛 Many people don’t realize how deeply loss affects children, and even fewer know how to support them. About Guest: Dr. Marissa Slaven, a palliative care physician for over 25 years, has cared for thousands of patients and their families. As a mother of three, she is deeply moved by the lasting impact of children's grief. Now, as a board member of the Children's Grief Foundation, she hopes to give back to society’s most vulnerable. About Foundation: The Children's Grief Foundation of Canada We are a non-profit charitable organization that raises funds to distribute to Canadian registered charities that support Children’s Grief. Highlights: 1) Funded programs all across the country in communities large and small for 4 1/2 years 2) Through our grants, we have impacted thousands of children and their families 3) Raising awareness of children's grief Main Challenge: People don't like to think about or talk about death and grief, and even more so, they don't want to think about how it impacts children, as people think children don't experience grief.
