I first met Joshua four years ago through the Big brother big sister program when he was 12 years old. He's definitely had his ups and downs, and his growth the past four years has been extraordinary. I was actually surprised when he told me he wanted to come on the podcast and talk about mental health since he's always been very shy on camera.
You wouldn't know it by interacting with him, but he came from an extremely challenging childhood background (which he talks about in the podcast) and as a result even as a 12 year old kid he had great self awareness from his adopted mom getting him all kinds of help from therapy, to mentors to playing music instruments, sports, etc.
